Legacy data is the collection of all the information which is not being used or managed at present but stored physical or electronic format. The legacy data usually includes a huge volume of data bundled in files, the purposes of saving these files are disaster recovery, business needs, retention and preservation processes.

It is a very common issue that many organizations or individuals face. When an organization migrates from one platform to another the biggest problem arrives is not being able to migrate all the data that was being used before to this new system to continue. Legacy archive APIs

Legacy archive’ built- in application programming interface (API) slows down the process of migration and many times corrupts the files that are being extract.

Non-Exchange data formats

Some organizations store their data in a format (Enterprise Vault, SourceOne or Autonomy archive) that does not allow the data to migrate to the other systems. This happens mainly with the traditional archive migration tools that either do not support the ingestion of data.


Journal archives

The single-instanced journalized data from the legacy email system do not support many latest version of platforms. Traditional archive migration tools don’t convert journal archives to mailbox archives.
